Crafter 1-100 Leveling Guide (Updated for 7.3)

This guide will show you how to quickly level all of your crafter classes in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail. We will assume you have no prior knowledge of the crafting system and macros will be provided to do the majority of the heavy lifting for you. With preparation, you will bypass the majority of the grind associated with leveling crafters by using the combination of Cosmic Exploration, Ishgardian Restoration and Collectables. The suggested gear and macros will result in huge EXP bonuses that will speed up the leveling process immensely.

Leveling All Classes Together VS. One At A Time

Leveling your classes in parallel or one at a time is entirely up to your preference. This guide is written to be flexible so that you may choose the method that you prefer without any major downsides. Just ensure that you plan your Main / Off-Hand inventory space accordingly.

Main Class Level 90+

  • It is expected that your main class is Level 90+ with the Endwalker Main Scenario completed for access to Cosmic Exploration.
  • This entire guide can be followed to the end without completing the Shadowbringers, Endwalker or Dawntrail main scenario questMain Scenario Quests thanks to Ishgardian Restoration.
  • You will need to rely on the Market Board to obtain Tools if you do not have access to the required NPCs.

3-5 Million Gil (Optional)

  • You will need some starting funds to purchase gear, tools, materia, food and materials to prepare for the journey from 1-100.
  • Visit our Gil Store, we are the only dedicated sellers of legitimately farmed gil and are able to provide gil at low prices.
  • This may seem like a lot of gil for those first foraging into crafting, but it is a small amount in the grand scheme of things and seasoned crafters are able to earn far more.
  • It's strongly advised to use universalis.app to check the Market Board prices for all Worlds on your Data Center, it will save you a lot of gil in the long run.
  • If you choose to stick to Cosmic Exploration from 50-100, the expense of leveling your Crafters is hugely reduced in exchange for slower EXP gain.

Access to Engineering Manuals (Optional)

  • You will need access to commercial engineering manualEngineering Manuals to provide a +50% boost to EXP during Level 1-21.
  • commercial engineering manualEngineering Manuals can be used at any level but are most vital at these levels as nearly all EXP is awarded from crafting.
  • The easiest way to obtain commercial engineering manualEngineering Manuals is by Grand Company Seals.
  • Engineering Manuals have no effect on EXP gained from Cosmic Exploration.

50 HQ Rroneek Steak Food (Optional)

  • You will need to stock up on High Quality rroneek steakRroneek Steak, these will be the food of choice for our Macros due to their great Control and CP bonuses.
  • If you choose to stick to Cosmic Exploration from 50-100, you will not need to use any Crafting food until 90+.

EXP Boosts & Bonuses

Aside from the Rest EXP Bonus; there are a number of stackable buffs, gear and methods that can be used to increase EXP yields and level up even faster:

Road to 90 (Preferred Worlds) (+100%)

Those who are on Preferred Worlds are the most privileged group with the the road toRoad to 90 buff, receiving a +100% bonus to ALL EXP gained until Level 90. This means the effort required to reach Level 90 is essentially halved.

Engineering Manuals (+150%)

commercial engineering manualCompany-Issue / Commercial Manuals grant +150% EXP and are essentially mandatory during Levels 1-21 due to the huge boost they provide. commercial engineering manualEngineering Manuals only affect EXP given from successfully crafting an item so the majority of your EXP gained after level 21 is not affected by commercial engineering manualEngineering Manuals. However, they can still by used and will make a difference in the overall number of crafts required to level up, especially if used with the EXP Scaling method.

Helping Hand II (Free Company Buff) (+10%)

For those who are part of a Free Company willing to activate the helping handHelping Hand II Company Action, you'll receive a small boost of +10% EXP for all successful crafts for 24 hours. This buff does not affect EXP from Stellar Missions (Cosmic Exploration) or Ishgard Restoration hand-ins.

Bonus EXP Gear

  • friendship circletFriendship Circlet +20% (up to level 26)
  • ala mhigan earringsAla Mhigan Earrings +30% EXP (up to level 51)

Those fortunate enough to have access to Bonus EXP gear can wear this gear until their level caps for a nice boost. Bonuses from this gear does stack and swapping in this gear will not affect the Macros suggested in this guide. That said, the EXP bonuses from this gear do not affect EXP rewarded from Ishgard Restoration hand-ins.

EXP Scaling (Craft All Hand-ins at Minimum Level)

It is possible to maximize the EXP received from crafting Ishgard Restoration Recipes by waiting until you've crafted the required quantity to reach the next tier. EXP received from crafting scales down as you level up, so you'll receive far more EXP if you complete all your crafts at the lowest level that you possibly can.

Buying Equipment & Tools

To properly prepare for the journey from 10-100, you will need to acquire the gear that you'll be using to craft the Cosmic Exploration and Ishgard Restoration turn-in items. The suggested macros will ensure that you receive the maximum possible EXP rewards from Cosmic Exploration and Ishgard Restoration allowing you to level much faster.

All the gear listed in this guide can be found relatively easily via NPCs. All Crafting equipment from level 1-100 is convenient solid by the NPC Godgyth in the Cosmic Exploration map Sinus Ardorum.

At higher levels 63+, HQ gear from the Market Board may be sold cheaper than NQ gear from NPCs. Use universalis.app to search the Market Boards of all the Worlds on your Data Center and find the cheapest prices for Gear.

Level 1-21 Quicksynth & Cosmic Exploration

You will need to unlock your crafting classes at their respective Guilds if you haven't done so already.

Once unlocked, you will be buying very cheap and simple materials from the Guild Supplier then using Quick Synthesis to gain experience with little effort on your part.

Quick Synthesis requires level 10 in any crafter class, it will then be unlocked for the rest of your crafter classes from level 1.

Complete your level 1, 5 and 10 Crafter Class Quest for some easy EXP and gear rewards, you will also obtain slightly upgraded Main Hand and Off-Hand tools to help you quicksynth your way to level 21. These quests will also provide you with the Shards required for crafting.

If you are not carrying any commercial engineering manualEngineering manuals, it is advised to head straight to Cosmic Exploration at level 10 to maximize EXP gains.

Unlock Cosmic Exploration

You'll be able to unlock cosmic exploration from level 10 by speaking to Namingway at Old Sharlayan (X: 12.6 Y: 13.6).

When you complete the quest, you'll be taken to Sinus Ardorum where you can find everything related to Cosmic Exploration.

Once unlocked, Speak to Drivingway in Mare Lamentorum (X: 21. 9 Y: 13.2) to travel to Sinus Ardorum.

When you're inside Sinus Adorum, your Exotablet window will appear. Here, you can access the Stellar Missions which will display the hand-in quests that we'll need to complete to gain EXP.

If you're starting Cosmic at Level 10, speak to the Merchant Godgyth at (X: 21.8 Y: 21.8), here you can purchase all the equipment that is appropriate for your current level.

You should upgrade your gear regularly to ensure that the Macros can hit the Quality requirements as the recipes scale with your level

Upgrade your at the following points: 11, 21, 41, 48, 53, 58, 63, 71, 81, 91.

Level 10 Stellar Missions

Once you've accepted a Stellar Mission by selecting [Initiate], you can open your Cosmic Crafting Log at any time to begin the craft.

To manually craft High Quality items at Level 10, just use Basic Touch until the Quality bar reaches 100%.

Then use Basic Synthesis until the Progress Bar is at 100% to complete the synthesis.

If you're manually crafting, you'll need to keep an eye on your Durability and ensure it doesn't reach 0 before you complete the synthesis, Basic Touch and Basic Synthesis consume 10 Durability per use.

Use Master's Mend to restore 30 Durability for a cost of 88 CP.

You can use crafting food like HQ rroneek steakRroneek Steak to boost your CP signficiantly.

Level 21-41

Unlock The Firmament & Ishgardian Restoration

Now that you're over level 20 in any crafting class, you can now head to Ishgard and complete the short quest chain to unlock The Firmament if you haven't done so already. feature questTowards the Firmament can be accepted by speaking to the Recruitment Notice next to the Ishgard Aetheryte in Foundation (X: 9.7 Y: 11.5).

You'll be transported to The Firmament to complete the quest. Once complete, speak to the Augebert (sidequest icon). After Augebert, speak to any NPCs in the Firmament (Potkin, Lizbeth, Enie etc) with a sidequest icon above their head to listen to their dialogue.

Next, speak to Potkin a second time to unlock Expert Recipes in your Crafting Log, these are the recipes for the Ishgardian Restoration items that we will be crafting and turning in to Potkin for EXP.

The Firmament will now be accessible from the Ishgard Aetheryte once unlocked.

All materials used for Leveling via Ishgardian Restoration can be bought from the Market Board meaning that Gathering is not mandatory for any stage.

Level 78-81 (Class Quests)

After your crafter class has reached level 78, it would be in your best interest to complete the all the Crafter Class Quests. The experience points granted by these quests will be enough to comfortably take you to level 81 and unlock the vital Crafting Action manipulationManipulation. manipulationManipulation action will need to be unlocked for every class individually.

Once you've reached level 81 and unlocked manipulationManipulation, you can use more powerful macros to craft Collectables Recipes to unlock Master Recipes and earn large EXP simultaneously.

Skipping Class Quests & Levequests 80-81 (Optional)

Optionally, you can skip Class Quests if you do not wish to do them yet. You'll have to craft an additional 10 Level 70 Ishgardian Restoration recipes or complete 15 Stellar Missions to go from 78-80.

Once you're Level 80, you can complete Levequests via Grigge in Old Sharlayan (X: 12.2, Y: 13.4) to level to 81 if you need to do so to wear the Level 81 Gearset. It will take 4 HQ or 8 NQ turn-ins to go from 80 to 81.

Level 80-90

Those wearing the Level 71 Gearset will need to upgrade to an i480 or higher Gearset. craftsman's cunning materia vCraftsman's Cunning V or higher are required for the Legs, Feet and all Accessory Materia Slots; buy the cheapest on the Market Board or recycle them from your Level 71 Gearset.

Congratulations on leveling your crafters to level 100. The next steps would be upgrade your gear to the current best in slot (BiS) with materia melds. With this gear, you'll be able to craft the most profitable items easily with Macros and farm gil by selling them on the Market Board.

However, before proceeding you will need to unlock:

Unlocking Specialists (Optional)

You can choose up to 3 Specialists Classes which will grant you will an equippable Soul Stone for a small boost in stats.

  1. Speak to Lydirlona in Revenant's Toll (X: 22 Y: 6) and accept feature questBeloved of the Builder
  2. Speak to Alderan in The Pillars (X: 14.7 Y: 10.7) to complete quest
  3. Speak to Alderan again to choose a specialist

You will receive an equippable Soul Stone for your chosen crafter class, this will grant +20 Craftsmanship,+20 Control and +15 CP.
